A Group is a logical classification of managed devices. It provides a method of organising the devices and streamlines the process of associating policies, pushing applications and executing remote actions or applying other configurations from the portal.
You can create custom groups to classify the device by Department, Branch, Type of use, Hardware Characteristics of a device, and any other logical means that can help in managing devices easier. Keeping devices into groups enables administrators to efficiently manage the devices at scale.

Groups and Zones are two different features. Groups allow Administrators to manage devices, while Zones are mainly for putting devices in different buckets
